This Thursday (21st October) a collection of artists will be gathering on the Garden Festival site of 1986 at Festival park Stoke-on-Trent, to explore the hidden gardens that still exist today. We will be holding The Big Draw workshops on the site. This project is funded by Urban Vision and The New Generation Space.
We will be holding drawing workshops on the site, and would love to see you there.
There are three options:
For artists and creative people - Behjat Omer Abdulla will hold a workshop exploring new forms of land art drawing. (see flyer)
To book a place email: baha.baha@hotmail.co.uk or telephone: 07818807600 (places are limited so booking essential)
Or you can take part in Brian Holdcroft’s walk (as a form of drawing) from the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery (meet in PMAG foyer at 2pm). Brian will show you Mike Berry’s celebrated photographs from The Garden Festival, before leading a walk to the site - where you will be invited to explore the remnants of the festival. Just turn up at the museum at 2 to take part.
You can also take part in tours and drawing workshops on the site: lead by Urban Vision, Anna Francis and Kate Lynch. We will be there all day from 10am - 4pm: and the coordinates where we will be holding the workshops are 53° 1’47.63”N and 2°11’46.02”W and is the part of the site known as The Compass during the Garden Festival: more info here:
